Privacy & cookies
imfree.at helps a group pick a time and a place. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. This page explains what it stores, who can see it, and when it's deleted.
Who runs this site
imfree.at is run by MB 8 bitai. For any question about your data, or to use your rights below, email info@8bits.lt.
What we store
- What you type in: the event name, the organiser's name, your name, the times you're free, your votes, and places or options you suggest.
- An optional 4-digit PIN. We only keep a salted hash of it, never the PIN itself.
- A random secret for each device, so it can edit your answers. We only keep a hash of it.
- Technical data: server logs record your IP address, the page you asked for and your browser type. Rate limiting keeps short-lived counters per IP address to stop abuse.
Who can see it
Anyone with an event's link can see the names, availability and votes in that event. That's how the group compares answers. Don't put anything in an event that you wouldn't share with the people you send the link to. The organiser can also remove people from their event.
Where it's kept
On one server at DigitalOcean in Frankfurt, Germany (EU). We don't sell or share your data with anyone.
How long we keep it
- Each event, with everyone's names and answers, deletes itself automatically 60 days after its last date. Events planned by day of the week delete themselves 60 days after the last change.
- You can delete your own name and answers at any time with “delete my answers” while answering.
- Server logs are capped at 10 MB and the oldest lines are overwritten automatically.
- Rate-limit counters expire after 10 minutes.
Cookies
We only use cookies the site needs to work, so there is no cookie banner. None of them track you across sites.

Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage (“imfree-theme”). It never leaves your device.
Other services
- Place search: when you type into the place search, your browser sends what you type to Photon, run by komoot in Germany, which also sees your IP address. If you don't use place search, nothing is sent.
- Map links: “Map” and “Open in Maps” open OpenStreetMap only when you click them.
- Fonts are served from our own server, so no font service sees your visit.
Legal basis
We process what you enter to provide the planning you asked for (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Logs and rate limiting are kept for our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working (Article 6(1)(f)).
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how it's used. Most of this you can do yourself: change your answers, or delete them. For anything else, contact us using the details above. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
